Friday 29th January 2010 saw the Band and Drums travel to Wootton Bassett to perform for the unveiling of the new flag pole and flag donated to the Town. The town was presented with this, in recognition of all they do for the servicemen and women and their families who have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. The Band arrived in Wootton Bassett around 1.15pm and was directed to the Civic Centre, which is where the Band would be based for the day.

Bethune, France On Friday evening, the Band met at their HQ and boarded the coach for the journey to Bethune, to take part in their Annual WW2 Liberation Commemorations, and for a change, the Band travelled to France via the Channel Tunnel.
After a shorter journey via the Shuttle they arrived in Bethune around 1.15am, but spent around 15 minutes trying to find the hotel, then ended up telephoning their host and telling them what colour their coach was, and in the end the he tracked them down! The rooms were sorted and everyone bedded down for the night.

Tiel Taptoe 2009, Tiel, Netherlands By L/Cpl John Rowland
Another weekend and yet another European show for the band and corps of drums. This year is turning out to be a much travelled one after shows in Aulnay-sous-Bois and Saint Quentin, both in France, during May. Now it was Holland’s turn to host the band over the weekend of the 5th – 7th June. The band set out from Romford at a slightly more respectable time of 22:30 to catch the ferry to Dover. A very smooth crossing was followed by a 4 hour journey to Tiel, of which the band spent most of the time sleeping, or trying to. Presentation Night 2008 Report By Officer Sarah Adams
Glitz and Glamour descended on the Band HQ on Saturday 31st January 2009 for the Band’s Annual Presentation Night, where awards were presented for 2008. As with previous years, it was another great success, with the band and drums all looking stunning in their “Black Tie and Evening Dress” outfits.
The evening started with the presentation of the awards, followed by the promotions. Once the ceremony was over, entertainment was provided by the band Columbia featuring our very own Sgt Tommy Clayden on drum kit, where band members and guests danced the night away.
The evening was enjoyed by a crowd of 250 and finished at around 12.45 pm.
Listed below are the awards and promotions

Remembrance Day 2008 By L/Cpl John Rowland
The biggest event in the band calendar, Remembrance Sunday. The band met at the band hall at 09:00, which meant for an early start. However, with a very impressive turnout of members, both uniformed and non-uniformed of over 82, it made a fantastic sight.
The band fell in on Western Road with the rest of the parade behind it, and then proceeded to march towards the Liberty Shopping Centre. En route, a number of passers by and drivers, caught up in the hold up caused by the parade, seemed to enjoy the powerful sounds being displayed on this November morning.

Hampton Court Palace Friday 7th November saw a small band perform at the famous Hampton Court Palace. The performance, which took place in the evening, was for a private function taking place in the palace.
The band left their headquarters at quite an early time so as to avoid the horrendous rush hour traffic suffered at that time of the day. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a rather impressive “packed lunch” filled with baguettes, muffins and other goodies. After enjoying our food, the band then proceeded to get ready, and during this time, the fanfare team went off to sound a fanfare for dinner.
After the fanfare team returned, it was time for the band to form up to perform. Standing in the dark of night where no one could see them, the command was given and the band and drums struck up to the sounds of Arnhem, a typical military piece. Their performance lasted for around 15 minutes, after which the band marched off to Spring Drills Quick, and back into the dark of night. After watching what could be described as a fantastic firework display, the band made their way back to get changed and head off home Read more Comments: 0 | posted by Iain in Band Shows on Wednesday 19 November 2008 - 11:29:34
