Cpl Kirk Redpath - First Anniversary At 8.10pm on Friday 8th August, exactly a year to the date and time, three buglers from the Band sounded the last post in an act of remembrance to commemorate the anniversary of Cpl Kirk Redpath, who was tragically killed in Iraq on the 8th August 2007. Kirks campaign medal and beret were placed on the memorial that is erected outside the Bandhall in his memory.
After a two minute silence, everyone was invited for refreshments and to pay their respects if they wished in the Kirk Redpath Room. On the previous evening on their normal Thursday rehearsal, the Band also paid a tribute to Kirk, playing his favourite marches and having a minutes silence as a mark of respect. Band members also left flowers and balloons outside the hall by his memorial. Comments: 0 | posted by *Sarahlou* in Member News on Monday 11 August 2008 - 20:21:23
